Waking up at 3:46 AM for the 3rd time in a row that night, not remembering what day of the week it is from being so sleep-deprived, baby toys and diapers scattered all over the house, Costa and I scrambling to find the baby bottle, thoughts racing through my head like… "I need to buy some deodorant today…” and oh shit I forgot to call my aunt back about dropping off that thing, she’s going to kill me!
I spent the better part of last year learning about who I was in this new segment of my life, and who the new me was showing up as in business, marriage, friendship, and motherhood... This new year feels like I am coming up for air and I am HERE for it, friends!
As we head into the new year, I have a lot to be thankful for and excited about, like a new vinyasa flow yoga practice, a new office location in the heart of Walnut Creek that I am obsessed with, and thank God for hair vitamins because I was shedding all over America the past 4 months! 2023 was filled with many, many new transitions for me! Not to mention the identity shock one goes through when learning how to navigate becoming a parent for the first time…. Talk about a plot twist!
Adonis turns one in two short months! My husband and I have loved watching him grow and make new daily discoveries! He recently learned how to crawl, laugh, and giggle and we were both overjoyed with love and laughter ourselves! Being a parent is such a joyful and sleep-deprived trip, but one I’m willing to take again for this amount of love.
For those who transitioned into parenthood over the past year, I salute you!
For those of you who are expecting a little one soon, it’s nothing like what people say it is… it is actually way harder and way more rewarding than you expect it to be, especially for the mamas!
Perfect is out the window, my friend. Learn how to trust your instincts and don’t worry about what everyone else is telling you to do. Brace yourselves, my friends, you’re in for the ride of your life! For those existing parents reading this right now, you know what I’m talking about!
I wouldn’t have it any other way, and I’m so excited to see what this new year brings us! There have already been so many exciting new surprises that have made our lives turn out way better than we expected!
