The real, raw breakdown of juggling mom life and million-dollar closings—without losing yourself.
This season of business and motherhood has been unlike anything I’ve experienced before. And if you’re a female entrepreneur and a mama, tell me if this sounds familiar…
I’m 35 years old. I’ve been in real estate for 12 years now. But this year? It’s different…
Not only am I still actively selling real estate, but I’m also raising my son, Adonis, who just turned two this March, anddd I’m currently 25 weeks pregnant with baby boy #2!
So naturally... What better time to hire a coach, launch a podcast, and double down on my social media strategy? (I know. Wild. Who does that?!)
But here’s the truth: Deep down, I’ve always known what I’m capable of. I’ve had a clear vision of the kind of life and business I want to build. And at some point, I realized I’m done waiting for “the right time.”
Because the right time is now.
I want a business that fuels the lifestyle I love, one that gives me freedom to be fully present with my family, my husband, and my two boys. That means putting in the work today, while one baby is still little and the other hasn’t arrived yet, so that I can enjoy more flexibility in the years to come.
So in this episode, I’m sharing the exact ways I’m doubling down in my real estate business right now. Whether you’re in a similar season of life, or you’re just ready to boost sales and create more freedom...this is for you!

NUMBER ONE: Social Media
Let’s start with Instagram. Here’s how I’m doubling down on using it with intention:
First, I got super clear on who I’m actually speaking to. If I’m not speaking directly to my ideal person, what’s the point?
I did a full social media audit. That meant reviewing my bio, checking the keywords I’m using, confirming that my location is listed, and making sure I’ve got a crisp, clear headshot that builds trust right away. I also made sure that it’s easy for people to connect with me from the link in my bio. If you’re not doing that — start there.
I post at least one piece of content per day. Sometimes it’s a reel. Sometimes it’s a carousel. Sometimes it’s just a single post. But I stay consistent.
Stories? I show up in them daily — 5 or more times. Some days it’s 3, some days it’s 10. But the key here is visibility. Share your life. People want to see the behind-the-scenes.
Lastly, I’m using ManyChat automations to take those social media conversations off the platform — and into my database. Because if we’re working this hard to build connections, we can’t leave them floating in the DMs. We need a follow-up system.
NUMBER TWO: Community Events
Another way I’m leveling up in my business is by going all-in on community-based events right here in my own neighborhood.
For years, I wanted to do more of these, but the timing never felt right. Either the schedule was too full, or the budget just didn’t feel like it made sense.
Until one day my coach said to me:
“Mel, you can’t afford NOT to do this.”
And she was right.
Hosting events, creating community, and showing up as a local leader — this is my zone of genius. It fills my cup. It brings people together. And honestly? It makes this business fun again. So if you feel like the community is calling you — lean in. Start small. A coffee meet-up. A backyard mixer. A workshop.
And if you want help, I created a full 👉🏼 Event Essentials Guide that walks you through how I plan and host local events from start to finish... logistics, strategy, checklists, all of it!

#3: BACK TO BASICS—REAL ESTATE IS STILL A PEOPLE BUSINESS
You cannot scale your business behind a screen alone. I say this with love.
Let’s talk open houses:
✅ They still work.
✅ They’re not just for the listing agent.
✅ They are one of the fastest ways to grow your pipeline.
Here’s how I run mine:
Show up early and create a vibe (music, lighting, fresh flowers—it matters).
Don’t just talk at people. Ask questions. Listen. Connect
Use digital sign-in tools like Curb Hero to collect data smoothly.
Send a same-day follow-up text or DM so they remember you.
Follow up with a video market recap + curated list of homes based on their interests.
AI can’t replace a meaningful convo over the kitchen island while their toddler jumps on the couch. Period.
Here’s the truth: The season you’re in might be full. You might be balancing babies, business, burnout, and everything in between.
But when you lean into systems, community, and human connection — your business gets simpler, more aligned, and way more joyful.
You don’t need to do it all. You just need to do the things that work — with intention.
Let that be your reminder today.
Whether you’re scaling in the early mornings before your babies wake up or during nap time with a laptop in your lap—I hope this gives you some fire and direction. 💻🍼
You’ve got this.
